Welcome to my world : where opening ones’ eyes to the beauty of life is like looking at a big fat rainbow through a sparkly kaleidoscope telescope! I am told that my “joie-de-vivre” is addictive and uplifting. I am also told that because of these things it’s hard to believe that I’m also an MD ☺
Growing up, I wanted to be a clown. I was inspired at a young age by “Patch Adams”, and was intrigued by the power of laughter in healing. It became my goal to become a doctor. In 2011, many years of academic studies under my belt, the University of Geneva (Switzerland) awarded me my medical degree. After five years of post-graduate medical training primarily in orthopaedic rehabilitation, but also internal medicine, orthopaedic surgery, neurology and paraplegics, I am now a specialist in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, with a sub-specialty in Sports Medicine. I have also obtained the International Diploma of Mountain Medicine, and have an active interest in scientific research (currently piloting a clinical trial for the benefits of yoga in chronic pain patients). The student in me is never put aside, and I am continuing my education, training in yoga therapy and in diagnostic ultrasound. |
During those years training as an MD, my love of sports, movement and exploring consciousness developed and led me to train as a 200hr YTT Rainbow Kids Yoga teacher in 2012 (kids and family yoga) and more recently as an Acroyoga teacher (Acroyoga Montreal, 2017) and Acro Mastermind coach (JandCtraining, 2019). I am also an avid practitioner of mountain and adventure sports, bringing balance and complementary to my physical and mental practices.
Additionally, nature has an integral role in my life. From a young age i have been awestruck by the power and beauty of the earth’s gifts, from the morning’s blazing sunrise to the sparkling night-time stars, from the ocean winds and creatures to the high mountain snowy peaks, and of course not forgetting the enchanting rainbow. Nature shows us how infinitely small we are yet can invoke within each of us a raw energy with which to grow and learn. Today, I strive to provide a holistic integrative medical approach as well as movement workshops, for all ages and close with nature, by merging these passions: medicine, movement, consciousness, play, and nature. |
Combining the Traditional with the Alternative
In my practice, I try to bridge the gap between logic and creativity, linear and holistic thinking, control and freedom, incorporating movement, play and consciousness into science and medicine. I believe in the intimate relationship between mind and body, in our natural potential for self-healing.
“Chantal’s teaching and sessions are fun, powerful and sharply intuitive. Being deeply rooted in anatomy and kinesiology, her sessions reflect an equal balance between science and play. Whether adults or children, she encourages students to move in an anatomically smart way while developing a mindset of cooperation, self-responsibility and positivity— mindsets that optimize beyond the physical and transcend all aspects of one’s life” – Gabrielle Bonneville, Momentom Collective |
